Cognitive-Social Approaches to Personality

Albert Bandura defined "self-efficacy" as:

Cognitive-social theories of personality reject the trait theorist's focus on stable internal dispositions, and the psychoanalyst's focus on unconscious drives. Instead, they locate personality in the cognitive structures — beliefs, expectancies, goals, and information-processing habits — that people bring to situations.

This quiz covers the major cognitive-social frameworks: Bandura's social cognitive theory and the concept of self-efficacy; Mischel's Cognitive-Affective Personality System; Kelly's personal construct theory; Rotter's locus of control; and Dweck's implicit theories of intelligence.
